Vecela Koleda!

Is how they say Merry Christmas in Bulgarian. Christmas isn't a huge holiday there because when they were under Comunism they weren't allowed to celebrate it so they did most of their celebrations at New Years. Luckily, we are in a country where we are free to worship how we wish.
We had a lovely Christmas this year. It snowed a lot, the kids were able to do some sledding and we had a lot of good food and fun with our loved ones. Christmas Eve was spent at home this year. We made goodies for the neighbors and drank hot chocolate. Friends came and dropped off yummy food to share. We read the story of Jesus' birth and reminded the kids of the reason why we celebrate Christmas. Then, when they were all asleep, we wrapped all the presents and put them under the tree. It was finally 2 am when we got to sleep ourselves.
Christmas morning came and the kids were so happy with their new toys and clothes. Samuel got his airhog and the girls got their barbie dolls. Mark got me an excersise bike and I got him a new stereo to replace our broken down one. We went to my mom's house for breakfast and spent a couple hours there with the family then we went to Mark's parents' house. They didn't really have a big "to do" over there so we watched movies and ate hogie sandwiches and took the kids sledding again over at the park next door. We had fun. The kids had a lot of fun and it was just nice to spend the time with family and friends.
