Oh What Fun!

Today Mark's work had a company picnic at a park in town and it was a blast. The food was good and there was a lot for the family to do. The kids played on the swings and slides but it was really hot so that didn't last for too long. There were a lot of trees providing much needed shade and even water for the kids to play in. For lunch we had food from Barbeque Joe's and for desert, mud pies. For entertainment they did some improv acting. It was a little silly and Adrianne was acting like such a bear that I decided to take her to play in the water. There is a stream nearby where we picnicked that is only 4 inches deep in the deepest area so we went there to cool off. Bethany and Samuel followed but Rachel and Mark went to the other side to play soccer and t-ball. Bethany climbed up and down a little waterfall and got completely soaked and Adrianne just splashed around in the water and threw rocks. Samuel went rock collecting. I told him he could only take 3 rocks but he came home with 24. I'd say he got a little carried away.
Then they had the kids break open a pinata and the adults had a water balloon throwing party. They took Mark's supervisor and made him the target. The idea was that everyone would get a turn throwing a water balloon at him and if he caught one he could throw it back at the person who threw it at him but after just a couple of minutes everyone ganged up on the poor man and surprisingly, he didn't get that wet. So, some brainiac got the idea to chase him with the cooler and try to empty to contents on him (ice and water) but they couldn't catch him so since my Bethany found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time they decided to dump it all on her. It was hillarious!! She cried, of course but she was already soaked so no harm no foul. They gave her a popsicle and she was fine. All in all it was a very fun day. The kids said it was the best party they ever went to.
